WE HAVE:
SERVED 6,550 PATIENTS IN 2024
PROVIDED 6 HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO 240 PERSONS IN THE
PAST 3 MONTHS
We’d like to give a shout out to the members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
in Monroe, CT, and the Kings Bay/Crystal River Rotary, for their many years of
support of The Good Shepherd Foundation. Amazingly, our partnership with them
over 8 years has enabled us to support the clinic, fund the solar power installation,
build 2 latrines and wells, and provide various other needs that have arrived over
the years.
We have received funding from 11 other churches, many other Rotary clubs, and
hundreds of donors, enabling us in 2024 to:
- Facilitate lab testing.
- Offer a weekly community education program.
- Definitive diagnoses (vs presumptive diagnoses), by sending
blood work to a lab in nearby St. Marc. - Serve nearly 700 patients each month since January with a new MD,
who also has a Master of Public Health (MPH). - Begin planning to build 2 wells with potable (drinking) water and 3
latrines with donations from 22 Rotaries.
With your annual gift this year, we can build on this foundation and could expand
the services of our onsite lab and build more wells and latrines to cover the five
miles of the community we serve. We could also do home visits and provide
community education throughout the villages that rely on our care.
